Yoga Classes Oct. 1 to 29Learn the basic techniques for this meditation practice – breathing, stretching, and relaxing. Junior Wrestling Program Oct 7 to 15

Washington Township Parks and Recreation will hold registration for its Junior Wrestling Program 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sundays, Oct. 7 and 14, and 7 to 9 p.m., Mondays, Oct. 8 and 15, at the Community Activity Center, Hurffville-Cross Keys Road next to the WTHS Complex. Late registration will be accepted at the Parks and Recreation Office beginning Oct. 16 and is subject to a $10.00 late fee. The program is open to residents ages 5 to 14 with league age established as of Dec. 31. The cost of the program is $80.00 per wrestler. The fee for Middle School Wrestlers is $30.00.

Starfish Group Honors Life Experiences of Adults Age 80+ Oct. 12

Anyone 80 years of age or older qualifies as a “Starfish.” Join this lively group for discussions ranging from childhood memories right on up to current events and topics of interest to you. This group will meet 1:30 to 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12, at New Seasons Assisted Living, 600 Medical Center Drive. A Night to Remember” dinner dance Oct. 12

The Washington Township Memorial Post #6332 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is hosting a Salute to World War II Veteran residents on Friday, Oct. 12 with “A Night to Remember” dinner-dance. The event will be held at the Whitman Square Fire Hall on Johnson Road from 7 to 11 p.m. All World War II Veterans who are residents of Washington Township will be honored that night and enter the event for free. All other attendees who wish to attend may purchase a ticket at $25 per person.

Fall Bird Feeder Cleaning Event Oct. 13

From 9 a.m to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, residents may drop off their bird feeders for cleaning at Wild Birds Unlimited in Sewell. For a $3 fee per feeder, your feeders will be cleaned and disinfected. Minor repairs will also be completed where possible. Youth Basketball Program Registration Oct. 15

Washington Township Parks and Recreation is now accepting online registration for its Youth Basketball Program. The program is open to Washington Township boys and girls ages 7 to 18 with league age established as of Oct. 15, 2007. Fees are 7 and 8 years, $40; 9 to 12 year olds, $45 and 13 to 18 year olds, $50. Register online at www.wtbasketball.com Only payment by Visa or Mastercard will be accepted. Payment by check or cash can be made by attending an in person online registration at the Chestnut Ridge Middle School 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19 or Tuesday, Sept. 25. Late registration will be accepted October 1 to 12 with a late fee of $10. The program also offers a Best Friends division for physically and/or mentally challenged children. Kennedy Health System Offers Dinner Clubs Oct. 15

Enjoy early dining with other ElderMed members from 4:30 to 6 p.m. for just $4.99. This includes your choice of entree, vegetable, soup and salad bar, dessert and beverage. The Dinner Clubs will be held at Kennedy Memorial Hospital – 435 Hurffville-Cross Keys Road in on Monday, Oct. 15 at Kennedy Memorial Hospital. Arthritis Support Group Oct. 17

An Arthritis Support Group sponsored by the Kennedy Health System and the NJ Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation offers mutual support and education for people with arthritis and their families. ElderMed Breakfast Club Oct. 18

Try Kennedy’s breakfast club dining for only $3.50. Enjoy our two menu choices, the “traditional” featuring breakfast meat and potatoes or the “power breakfast” which includes oatmeal, fruit and yogurt. Legends and Lore

Oct. 19 The Washington Township Parks Rangers and the Friends of the Olde Stone House will present Legends and Lore, a night of haunting tales and creepy legends 7 p.m., Friday, Oct 19 at the Olde Stone House Village. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the Parks and Recreation Office located on McClure Drive or at the village on Friday evening.
