The Kyle Koehler Trio will perform in concert from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Tabernacle.

TABERNACLE >> The Jazz and Blues Showcase Series will feature the Kyle Koehler Trio from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church here.

Organist Koehler’s New York trio includes guest guitarist Ed Cherry and noted drummer Jason Tiemann.

Philadelphia native Koehler’s professional career has taken him across the world performing and recording with many of the jazz world’s top artists, including are Lou Donaldson, David “Fathead” Newman, Grover Washington Jr., Jimmy Heath and Don Braden. Among his other important credits, Koehler was chosen as jazz ambassador to Africa in 2002 for a U.S. State Department-Kennedy Center tour and was also honored by “Downbeat” magazine as “Rising Star” on organ in 2006.

Cherry's distinguished, 40-year international career performing and recording includes a 15-year association with jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie, along with significant other work in groups led by jazz greats Paquito D’Rivera, Roy Hargrove and Dr. Lonnie Smith.

Admission is $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and $10 for students.

Lord of Life Lutheran Church is located at 1 Winchester Court in Tabernacle.
