MEDFORD >> Shawnee High School’s Kids for Wish Kids Club hosted a magic show for the community in an effort to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Senior Jake Strong volunteered his time to provide a fantastic performance in front of a crowd of over 500 people, and the show was able to raise $9,365.

Diane Kelly, advisor for the Kids for Wish Kids Club, remarked “the sheer amount of support from the school and community has been overwhelming. The money we raised will be able to grant the wish of a child diagnosed with a critical illness. I’m so impressed with my club members for their enthusiasm and effort to make this an extremely successful event and of course, with Jake (Strong) who, on top of being an excellent student, spent months preparing a new routine and absolutely nailed it. The show was a success because of his dedication and I’m just so happy with how we will be able to help those in need.”

Those who missed the event but would still like to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation can send a check payable to Shawnee High School, attention Diane Kelly.
