Mark Kinney

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina has announced that a Clementon man has been indicted for having sex with a female student last school year while working at Maple Shade High School, where he also served as an assistant football coach.

Mark Kinney, 32, of Millbridge Road, was indicted on two counts of Sexual Assault (Second Degree), and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Second Degree).

The indictment was returned yesterday and signed by Prosecutor Coffina. An arraignment will be scheduled soon in Superior Court in Mount Holly.

The investigation revealed that the incidents for which Kinney was indicted occurred inside of the high school during the 2018-19 school year. At the time of his arrest in February, Kinney was employed an instructional aide by a private contractor who provided paraprofessional services to students at the school.

He also served as an assistant football coach. He was removed from both positions immediately after being arrested, district officials said.

The age of the victim and additional details about the incident are being withheld in an effort to protect her identity.

The investigation was conducted by detectives from the Prosecutor’s Office and the Maple Shade Police Department.

Kinney is being prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Eife, supervisor of the Special Victims Section of the BCPO Major Crimes Unit.
