LANCASTER, Pa. >> Gettysburg College junior attacker Liza Barr of Medford was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week on March 18.
A Shawnee High Scholl graduate, Barr turned in the best offensive display of her career in top-ranked Gettysburg’s (5-0) only action last week, a 20-9 victory over No. 19 Ithaca College at Tierney Field next to the U.S. Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. The junior attacker connected on all five of her shot attempts and dished out six assists for a personal best 11 points. That tied the best total by a Bullet over the last 16 years. She had a hand in nine of the team’s 16 first-half goals, including each of the final four of the period.
Barr has been dialed in this spring and has posted at least four points in each of Gettysburg’s five games. She leads the squad in assists (19) and points (34) and is tied for the team lead in goals (15).
Gettysburg squares off with No. 7 York (Pa.) College (5-1) on Wednesday at Clark Field. The Spartans handed the Bullets their final loss in 2018 before the Orange and Blue marched all the way to the national title.
